 Pony & Horse riding school

Meet The Heavenly Team

Our Four-Legged Team Members that are no longer with us.

Also:
  • Doddie - He was leased to us and born in 2008, a wonderful team member for the five years (2020- 2025) we had the pleasure of his company. He had various melanomas/cancers, and due to his quality of life deteriorating we made the decision to say goodbye to our BFG (Big friendly giant) in October 2025, aged 17.  He touched many lives on this earth and will be missed by those who knew him.  Rest in peace Dodds.

  • Bash - An amazing, kind and gentle Thoroughbred whom I owned for 19 years.  He was a true gentleman, gave lots of people an amazing introduction to Natural Horsemanship and created many positive memories for those he interacted with, including demonstrations with me.  A true star.  I bought him in 2004 and did trek guiding with him before he started his lesson career in 2010, when I started the business.  He was born in December 1993 and passed away in October 2023.

  • Pixie - A sweet, sensitive soul.  A Welsh pony that gave people the opportunity to explore how to realise this part of themselves and learn from it.  A valued member of the team.  She was a part of the team from March 2015 and passed away in August 2023.

  • Alfie - A Kaimanawa pony who stole the hearts of many he met.  He was a very solid pony in his build, and nothing much phased him.  He took all ages from toddlers to an older lady in her mid 60's/early 70's who learnt to ride on him.  He was a favourite among our clients and well-loved.  He came to us in January 2015 and passed away in February 2019.

  • Connie - Another sensitive soul who was a Connemara pony and helped people to enjoy ponies in the time she was with us from 2012 until she passed away in 2017.

We thank all our past equine team members for their contribution to Abi's Natural Horsemanship and Riding School.  You will be missed and will forever be a part of the team.
