INFORMATION FOR HOLIDAY PROGRAMMES

Times:  9.30 start and around 4.45 finish for the full day programme.  For the half day the morning session will finish at around 12.45/1pm and the afternoon session will begin at 1.30.

What to bring

You will need to provide your own food/drink and bring clothes/jackets for all weathers. 

There is a tap at the paddocks for drinkable water.

Abi's Natural Horsmanship is hosting the Canterbury Equestrian
Hobby Horse Competition 

NEW DATE - 22nd June 2025 from 9 am - 2 pm

Classes include:

Best Dressed (kindly sponsored by Naomi Warrander from Harcourts Gold)
Best Fancy Walk
Best Trot
Best Canter
Best Homemade Hobby Horse (kindly sponsored by Naomi Warrander from
Harcourts Gold)

Ribbons for 1st to 6th place. Winner from each class to go forward for Champion/Reserve Champion.

We also have show jumping classes from 40 to 60cms too.
 
A special award will be given to a competitor from the above classes for overall Best in Show. This will be judged on best sportsmanship and hobby horsemanship during the entire competition.  The champion sash for this has kindly been donated by Pony Pals – Hobby Horses.

Entries are now closed but you are welcome to come along to spectate and join in with the activities mentioned below.

Activities include Natural Horsemanship demonstrations, basic lead rides for adults and kids as well as food/drink available to purchase so bring along your spare change to enjoy the day to the max.  The day will finish with Chase me Charlie.  This is a free class that is open to everyone. We will have a jump which people jump over and will get raised progressively higher until we have a winner. How high can you jump? 

Bring along your hand made hoby horse creation or a bought one.  All ages welcome to take part in this fun day to compete, spectate or try a basic lead ride and get the feel of riding a real horse or pony.

Abi's Natural Horsemanship horse and pony riding school is located near 293 Waterholes Road, Lincoln, Selwyn, New Zealand.

 

Head towards the Waterholes/Boundary Road corner (Springston side) and look for the big white sign on the tall hedge/tree side of the road.  When you arrive park on the grass verge outside the gate with our sign on it.
